The Shell Factory and Nature Park – Ft. Myers, FL

Pretty Little Mermaids - the littlest one would have fit inside this shell

We took our son, his girlfriend, and 2 of my granddaughters to the Shell Factory and Nature Park near Ft. Myers, Florida when they visited.  We spent a small fortune on shells and souvenirs (hey, what are grandkids for?), and saw a few critters.

  1. I’ve been there! Seven years ago – I bought a nightlight made from a shell – an inexpensive little thing but it casts a very pretty glow in the bathroom in the middle of the night. I get to see it at 3AM every night…. every single night….

  2. I know what you mean about the Every. Single. Night. I love those little night-lights, I bought one for each of the granddaughters. If you come back this way, you must let me know…

I can’t wait to have grandkids! (Though I will deny that in court!) Love the pics! 🙂

Love the pictures, especially the tree with the face carved into it. How unique.
    And that peacock is gorgeous!

  5. i really like your copyright notice…i wonder if you can tell i’m not that much into kids?

  6. Great slide show. We need a trip to FL to see those beautiful colors. FL has so many places to take the grand kids.

  7. Excellent pictures, K8! I agree with Jackie – the tree was funny, and the peacock was beautiful. I can attest to their loudness, we have one near our house. You done did good, Grandma!!

  8. Ah, yes. No one prepared me for how wonderful grandparenting is. They are the light of my life.

  9. Wonderful! I especially love the pics of the tropical birds. The cockatoo was my favorite–reminded me of my beloved Reggie…

    • I remember reading about Reggie…I know you miss him. I loved the birds – there is a video of my son dancing around to get a bird to dance – but I promised him it wouldn’t show up on You Tube….but maybe here?
