  1. So many desires…so little time. 😉

  2. This is all well and good but…

what’s lust? Can someone enlighten me? I have a vague idea but seem to have forgotten…

    • Wait until you have been married for 100 years…(well, it SEEMS like 100 years).

Ask Dave. He’s already submitted his entry. Over-achiever.

      Here’s Wikipedia’s take:

“Lust is an emotion or feeling of intense desire in the body. The lust can take any form such as the lust for knowledge, the lust for sex or the lust for power. It can take such mundane forms as the lust for food as distinct from the need for food. Lust is a powerful psychic force producing intense wanting for an object, or circumstance fulfilling the emotion…”

That’s pretty broad – so maybe even the lust for sleep would qualify…

Merriam Webster tells me it is both a noun and a verb:
      1) lust (noun): obsolete a: pleasure, delight b: personal inclination : wish
      2) : usu. intense or unbridled sexual desire : lasciviousness
      3) a: an intense longing : craving
      b: enthusiasm, eagerness

      Examples of LUST

      He was consumed by lust.
He was driven by a lust for power.
Lust for chocolate drew her into the candy store

      2) lust (verb) : to have an intense desire or need : crave; specifically: to have a sexual urge

Hope this helps…just don’t ask your husband.

  3. Oh, I can’t wait to read these. Lust is my favorite of the seven deadly sins!

  4. L UUUUUU S T
I love that word…One must draw out the “U” to make it more lusheous. X

  5. As often as I do Ben & Jerry, I should be able to write something.

  6. So many thoughts … !!!!
Let’s see if my knee holds up. So far, pain – meds and rest.
Would hate to miss this one. Going to do my best to squeeze one in.
    Let the competition begin …

  8. I submitted my entry before I read that Dave already had his entry submitted. Oh well, that man is talented and naughty. Sounds like a winning combination to me in a contest like this!

The formatting looks a little wonky on my submission, Katie. In case you want to see what I intend for it to look like, here it is on my blog: http://lornasvoice.wordpress.com/2012/07/16/i-want-you-i-need-you-i-love-you-an-exploration-in-lust/

These are all fun to read, but this one should be particularly, um, scintillating. 😉

  9. Lorna – thanks for including the URL for your submission – makes it easier for me to include when I post it so folks can go to your site and leave a comment.

Yes, that Dave is an enigma, is he not? His enthusiasm for Sins is a little worrisome. How does he know so much about each that his stories flow effortlessly from his brain to my computer screen? Hmmmm?

  10. Been there. Did that. Let’s do it again. Lots.

  11. I have a feeling you’ve have quite the entry list to wade through for this one, Katy! It sounds like it’s going to be popular. Let the contest begin!

  14. Here we go Kate – I have been trying to get this one done before my knee issues get taken care of. I may be on and off the blog net. It will be erradic visits until I can get myself fixed up.
Hope you enjoy it. I am looking forward to all of the submissions; espcially, Dave. Just read Lorna’s. She’s a lil devil. I like what I’ve read, so far.

    • I got it, Izzy. thanks. Hope your knee gets better quickly. I can’t wait to read these (as soon as I get mine finished – I’m almost done). Till then I just pop them into a separate e-mail folder until time to post them.

My fabulous readers are also fabulous writers…I love it. Take care of yourself, kiddo.

  15. I can’t believe I forgot to submit my entry in time… I can’t believe it. It just needed a little revising and time got away from me and… grrrrr…

Talk to me.
